Mr Bruce, the new Partner in PACHECO COTO Costa Rica, previously a Senior Associate in the firm’s Corporate Law team, has extensive experience in the areas of Intellectual Property, Telecommunications, Energy, Immigration, Consumer Law, Foreign Investment, Real Estate and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Oswald is a certified Arbitrator and Mediator, and has consulted for the United Nations, international non-government agencies, the Costa Rican Bar Association and several universities.
Mr Bruce obtained his law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, San José, Costa Rica, in 1997, and completed his Master’s Degree in Corporate Law at the Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología, Costa Rica, in 2002. Admitted to the Bar of the Republic of Costa Rica in 1997, he is also a member of the International Bar Association, and currently serves on the Board of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre of the Costa Rican Bar Association.
Monica P. Machuca has been promoted to partner of PACHECO COTO El Salvador. Miss Machuca has ample experience in mergers & acquisitions, due diligences, trademark, patent and copyright registrations and other business transactions. Previously a Senior Associate in the firm’s Corporate Law team, Monica has served as Director of Intellectual Property of the Salvadoran office, and is a member of the task force in charge of drafting the bill on “Natural Gas Law” and “Port Concessions in El Salvador Law”. In the area of Labour Law, she is proficient in the negotiation of collective labour agreements, legal and economic collective disputes, and is an active representative of companies in Labour Relations Committees (Employer/Employee).
Miss Machuca obtained her law degree from the Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado, El Salvador in 2001, and was admitted to the Bar by the Supreme Court of the Republic of El Salvador in 2004. She obtained her Intellectual Property Law Post Graduate Diploma from the Universidad de Castilla La Mancha, Toledo, Spain in 2005. She is a member of the Salvadoran Intellectual Property Association (ASPI) and of the Inter-American Intellectual Property Association (ASIPI).
The new Partner in Pacheco Coto Honduras, Dr Ricardo J. Rosa has extensive background in the areas of Corporate, Labour, Criminal and Administrative Law, as well as ample experience in contracts, franchising, intellectual property, environmental licensing, sanitary permits and project administration. Ricardo is a certified Arbitrator at the Conciliation and Arbitration Centre of Tegucigalpa’s Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Young Arbitrator’s Forum and of the Spanish Arbitration Club.
Dr. Rosa obtained his law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras, Honduras, in 2010, and completed his Master’s Degree in Mercantile Law at the same university in 2013. In 2016, at the Universidad San Carlos, Guatemala, he earned his Ph.D. in Mercantile and Tax Law.
