PhD Carolina Palma, Head of Pacheco Coto’s International Trade and Customs Division, participated as a speaker in the Conference “Perspectives and impact of the Brexit in Costa Rica – Political and Economic Repercussions of United Kingdom´s exit from the European Union”, organized by the British-Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce, which took place on July 29th at the Park Inn Hotel in San José, Costa Rica.

Expert Costa Rican analysts contributed to the event with different perspectives. Carolina Palma assessed the legal situation resulting from the agreements signed by the European Union and the United Kingdom in terms of the trade agreements subscribed by the United Kingdom and the possible scenarios concerning market access, rules of origin and legal framework within the common market.

The event was aimed at confirming a number of economic opportunities resulting from this conjunction, whereby both Costa Rica and the United Kingdom can strengthen their future commercial relationship.
